About Angie Haskell

Angie Haskell feels her heart is at peace amidst the wide open spaces of the colorful Southwest.  Leaving the mountains of Kentucky for the high desert of Santa Fe, she is surrounded by the light, shapes and colors that have drawn great artists here for decades.

Haskell’s cubist landscape paintings capture the spirit of the American Southwest through a bold fusion of modernist influences and dynamic compositions rooted in geometric abstraction.   Her popular "Midmod West" paintings feature towering cowboys, cowgirls and iconic Western symbols, all rendered in flat color planes and sharp geometric forms. Inspired by retro illustration and the mythology of the American West, Haskell creates bold pieces in which collectors recognize as uniquely hers.

Haskell is also an award-winning author, the mother to two adult daughters, and is married to celebrated artist, William Haskell. Together, Angie and William are often seen attending one another’s art shows throughout the Southwest, or are busy collaborating in the creation of accessories for art museum gift stores. They reside near Santa Fe, New Mexico.
